Hi, I’m Susan Fischer, founder of UNBOX COLOR, a Lisbon-based studio dedicated to transforming interiors through the power of color. I’m an architect and an International Color Consultant by training, a combination that allows me to see spaces not only for what they are, but for what they could become.
Through color consultations, workshops, and a showroom representing premium paint and decorative brands like The Little Greene Paint Company, I help people rethink the way they use color. My mission is to demystify color, explore its psychology, and show how it can uplift, energize, and completely transform a space.
every wall is a canvas
I grew up in Santiago, Chile, where I studied architecture and began my journey in the world of design. When I moved to Lisbon in 2015, I felt a pull toward something more creative and expressive. Although I loved architecture, working as a “proper architect” felt limiting. Lisbon, with its vibrant streets and colorful façades, contrasted sharply with its often plain, white interiors. That contrast awakened something in me—a desire to understand color more deeply and to help others embrace it with confidence.
I am passionate about sharing my expertise widely. I have hosted color retreats and spoken at numerous interior design events as a speaker in Portugal, the UK, and Ireland, helping both professionals and enthusiasts understand how to use color with intention and confidence.
